Primitive Skills Instruction
Picture this—You are in the woods holding a bow drill set in your hands that you have created completely from the natural items around you. You start by slowing moving the bow back and forth on the fire board. As you start adding more pressure, you move the bow faster creating more and more friction. Smoke starts pouring out of your fireboard and you realize that you have just created a coal. You carefully place the coal into the tinder you have prepared and slowly begin to blow. Suddenly, the tinder bundle explodes into flame. You have just started your first fire without matches. The feeling of victory is beyond explanation.
