What to Expect
Are you ready for an Adventure of a Lifetime? Are you ready to take the next step to becoming who you truly want to be? Adventure Camp is a week of extraordinary opportunity for youth to build friendships, reflect, challenge themselves, enjoy the outdoors, and have fun. Led by skilled, caring and compassionate staff dedicated to providing the safe, exciting, and supportive environment and the positive relationships that are most needed, youth have the opportunity to learn and excel—not just in activities, but in the attributes that will carry them through all of life’s challenges. Activities are designed to foster the development of self-efficacy, service, interdependence, integrity, vision, and hope.
Camp runs Monday morning through Friday afternoon. This family camp experience includes a myriad of activities such as climbing, swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, fishing, survival skills, water adventure activities, challenge courses, bonfires, games and other activities. Each group of 10-12 campers is assigned two counselors and a guide who work together to facilitate the group through the daily activities. Each day the group chooses from several activities what they would like to participate in. Daily themes, challenges, and special events will be conducted throughout camp and also in the evenings to add to excitement.
This is a semi-primitive camping experience. Youth will be camping in individual tents or group tee-pees and cooking their meals over a campfire (with help from an expert guide). There is no electricity or running water at the campsites. Hand-pumped water and vault-style toilet facilities are in close proximity to each campsite. Bathing is done in the river and lake.
